Advertising: joint controllership with Meta and TikTok

For the advertising purpose, Aliwood is a joint controller together with Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (“Meta”) and with TikTok Technology Limited and TikTok Information Technologies UK Limited (“TikTok”). Joint control covers collecting data on this website through their pixels and transmitting it to each platform; with TikTok, also campaign measurement and reporting. Aliwood uses Meta's and TikTok's business tools for the purposes described in the purposes section.

We have signed a joint controller agreement with each of them (Meta's Controller Addendum and TikTok's Joint Controller Terms). In essence, it allocates the obligations as follows:

Aliwood obtains your consent before loading the pixels and gives you this information.
Meta and TikTok handle the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability (Articles 15 to 20 GDPR) for the data they keep after receiving it.

You can exercise your rights with Aliwood (info@aliwood.net) or directly with Meta or TikTok. If you write to us, we will pass your request on to the relevant platform. Once they receive the data, Meta and TikTok process it as independent controllers for their own purposes, such as personalising ads and improving their products. Google Ireland Limited receives the data from the Google Ads tags as an independent controller. Your hashed email is only used to link the rental, purchase or sign-up to an account on each platform; for that matching, Meta, TikTok and Google act as Aliwood's processors under their data processing terms. Statistics: Google Analytics

To measure how the website is used, Aliwood uses Google Analytics, a service of Google Ireland Limited, which processes the data as Aliwood's processor under its data processing terms. It only loads if you switch on the “Statistics” category.

We have set it up so that it does not receive your name, email or account ID; without Google Signals, without ad personalisation, without sharing the data with other Google products and without linking it to Google Ads. Page addresses are sent without the parameters that may contain data about your account or your payments.

Google Analytics does not log or store your IP address. More information in Safeguarding your data in Google Analytics.

How long will we keep your personal data?

Your data will be kept for the minimum time required for the correct provision of the service offered, as well as to address any responsibilities that may arise from it and any other legal requirement. In this regard, ALIWOOD MEDITERRÁNEO PRODUCCIONES, S.L.U. has created a Data Retention and Deletion Policy, which sets out the retention, blocking and destruction periods that apply to us.

Aliwood does not store the data the pixels or Google Analytics collect in its systems. It keeps your cookie choice for 12 months and the record proving your consent for the 3 years after it expires or you withdraw it, the limitation period for very serious infringements (Article 72 LOPDGDD). Cookies last as stated in the Cookie Policy. Google Analytics keeps event data for 14 months; under their terms, Meta keeps event data for up to 2 years and TikTok for up to 18 months.

To whom will your data be disclosed?

ALIWOOD MEDITERRÁNEO PRODUCCIONES, S.L.U. will not disclose your data to any third party, except with your express consent.

Minors

Aliwood accounts are created and paid for by adults. The service is not directed to children under 14 (or, in the United States, under 13), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has given us personal data, write to info@aliwood.net and we will delete it. We send no visits or events to advertising platforms from the pages of children's titles.

Where can I complain if I believe my data is not being processed correctly?

If any data subject considers that their data is not being processed correctly by ALIWOOD MEDITERRÁNEO PRODUCCIONES, S.L.U. or that the requests to exercise their rights have not been satisfactorily addressed, they may file a complaint with the Data Protection Officer (info@aliwood.net) and/or the corresponding data protection authority, the AEPD being the one in charge within the national territory, www.aepd.es.

Who we share it with. Service providers that run Aliwood for us (hosting, email, payments, app stores and, only if you accept statistics cookies, Google Analytics to measure how the site is used) and, only if you accept advertising cookies, Meta, TikTok and Google, including a coded (hashed) version of your email when you rent, buy or sign up.
Tracking by other companies. If you accept advertising cookies, Meta, TikTok and Google may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites, including Aliwood.
Browser privacy signals. We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a refusal of advertising cookies. We do not respond to the older Do Not Track signal, which has no agreed standard; you can refuse advertising cookies at any time in cookie settings.
“Selling” and “sharing”. We do not sell personal information for money. When you accept advertising cookies, Meta, TikTok and Google receive data for cross-context behavioral advertising, which some state laws call “sharing”. You can stop it at any time in cookie settings or with GPC. Google Analytics only measures how the site is used on Aliwood's behalf and receives no data for advertising, so it involves no selling or “sharing”.
Video viewing information. We do not disclose information that identifies you as having requested or obtained specific films, except with your consent or as the law allows, for example to complete your purchase or to comply with legal process. Your consent to advertising cookies tells you that Meta, TikTok and Google can learn which films you look at, rent or buy, and link your rentals and purchases to your account with them. It is separate from our terms, lasts 12 months, and you can withdraw it at any time in cookie settings. If you accept statistics cookies, Google Analytics receives, on Aliwood's behalf, the films you look at or play together with a cookie identifier, never your name, email or account ID. We delete viewing records that identify you no later than one year after they are no longer needed.
Reviewing and correcting your information. Edit your name in your profile, or email info@aliwood.net to access, correct or delete your information. These rights apply to everyone, wherever you live.
Children. Aliwood is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Parents or guardians can ask us to delete it at info@aliwood.net.
Changes. We post any change to this policy here with a new effective date. If a change affects what you consented to, we ask you again through the cookie banner.
